The Guatenalan National Coffee Association, ANACAFE, was established in Novenber 1960 with the mandate to defend and promote the interests of the country's coffee producers. ANACAFE's membership numbers more than 90,000 and is composed of all who produce coffee : farmers, cooperatives and small producers. COOXUPÉ began its activities in grading, quality control and commercialization back in 1957. After achieving consistency of its standards and considerable volume of production, in 1984 the board of Directors decided to open an Export Department in Santos staffed with experienced professionals.
